Christian Church Homes Welcomes Four New Members to Board of Directors

Expanding governance, expertise, and mission-driven leadership in affordable housing

Christian Church Homes (CCH) is proud to announce the appointment of four accomplished leaders to its Board of Directors: Rev. Al Walker, Jed D’AbravanelSarah White, and Shanon Lamkins-Jones. Together, they bring deep expertise in housing development, federal housing policy, asset management, and faith-based community leadership—further strengthening CCH’s governance and long-term strategic direction.

“Our Board plays a critical role in ensuring that Christian Church Homes remains a trusted partner to funders, investors, lenders, local jurisdictions, and faith communities,” Alvarez added. “With these new members, we are even better positioned to deliver on our mission and meet the growing needs of the seniors we serve.” 

Board Chair, Leslie Taylor expressed, “We are thrilled to welcome Rev. Walker, Jed, Sarah, and Shanon, to the CCH Board. Their combined expertise reflects the caliber of leadership required in today’s affordable housing environment. With their guidance, we will continue to expand our impact, strengthen our partnerships, and ensure that older adults have safe, affordable, and dignified homes now and into the future.”

  • Rev. Al WalkerDeepening Faith-Based Leadership and Community Connection
    • Rev. Al Walker joins the Board as a respected faith and community leader with many years of experience serving congregations and neighborhoods facing economic and housing insecurity. His ministry has focused on pastoral care, community outreach, and partnership-building with nonprofits, civic leaders, and service providers. Rev. Walker’s perspective reinforces CCH’s historic roots in the church, while also strengthening the organization’s connection to the communities it serves. His experience in governance, congregational leadership, and community advocacy will help ensure that CCH’s decisions remain grounded in dignity, compassion, and service.
  • Jed D’AbravanelStrengthening Legal and Policy Infrastructure
    • Jed D’Abravanel joins the Board as an accomplished affordable housing attorney and federal housing policy expert. He has extensive experience advising nonprofit developers, public agencies, and financial partners on regulatory compliance, HUD programs, real estate transactions, and affordable housing law. Jed’s legal and policy insight will be instrumental as CCH navigates complex federal regulations, explores innovative financing structures, and deepens its role in public–private partnerships that expand affordable housing for low-income seniors.
  • Sarah WhiteAdvancing Community-Centered Housing Development
    • Sarah White brings more than 20 years of experience in affordable housing development, with a strong track record of leading community-focused projects throughout the West Coast. Her expertise spans site acquisition, entitlements, financing, and community partnership, with a consistent focus on equity, thoughtful design, and resident-centered outcomes. Sarah’s leadership will help guide CCH’s growing pipeline of new development and preservation efforts, ensuring that each project advances both financial sustainability and community impact.
  • Shanon Lampkins-JonesEnsuring Long-Term Financial Sustainability and Asset Performance
    • With more than 15 years of experience overseeing affordable housing portfolios nationwide, Shannon Lamkin brings sophisticated leadership in asset management, capital planning, and financial oversight. She specializes in aligning mission-driven goals with strong property performance and long-term financial health. Shanon’s expertise in portfolio strategy, risk mitigation, and operational performance will support CCH in preserving and enhancing its communities, ensuring that buildings remain strong, welcoming, and sustainable for residents over time.

The appointment of Walker, D’Abravanel, White, and Lamkins-Jones underscores CCH’s commitment to a strong, diverse, and strategically aligned Board of Directors. Their combined expertise supports CCH’s work to:

  • Advance a multistate pipeline of new affordable senior housing communities,
  • Preserve and recapitalize existing properties,
  • Navigate evolving federal and state housing policies, and
  • Maintain long-term financial and operational resilience.
