Dear Friends,
As 2020 draws to a close, this has been a year unlike any other in recent history. The impact of the pandemic has affected us all – from our business operations and the overall economy to our personal lives. This year has caused us to reflect on what’s most important to us, our health, our families and our safety. Many of us are looking ahead to 2021 with renewed hope. Vaccines are being delivered throughout the country with the promise that if we remain vigilant through this winter surge, we may one-day return to our old state of normalcy.
In the interim, we are reminded to stay the course and plan ahead for what the future of affordable housing may look like. It cannot be denied that senior living will change as a result of the pandemic. COVID-19 has exposed major and systemic issues facing older adults and has highlighted the inter-connectivity between housing and health care. What is imperative is that we take into account lessons learned from the pandemic and to develop programs, systems and potentially legislation enabling us to move forward together.
We hope you enjoy reading the articles in this issue which spotlight the impact of COVID-19 on the affordable housing industry and the vital role of social service coordinators in helping meet the needs of our residents. As industry leaders, our due diligence is critical in sustaining the availability of affordable housing in providing for the care of our aging adult population.
As the holiday season is upon us, CCH thanks you, our valued business partners, for your continued support throughout this unprecedented year. As we look ahead to 2021 and celebrate CCH’s 60 years of service, We are grateful to each of you for helping us to stem the tide of this pandemic and to stay focused on our mission of providing quality, affordable housing. Together, we will come through this year of uncertainties stronger than ever.
Wishing you a safe holiday season and a prosperous new year full of hope and renewal.
