Disciples’ Leader Terri Owens Visits CCH and Westlake

CCH’s mission, to provide affordable housing and caring communities for seniors in poverty, was founded in our faith-based roots with the Disciples of Christ and have always maintained a close bond with this denomination. In 2017, the denomination elected a new General Minister and President, Rev. Terri Hord Owens. Rev. Owens will serve for a six-year term and began her work with an “On the Road” tour of the country. In March, we were proud to have her visit CCH in Oakland, California and take a tour of our recently remodeled flagship property, Westlake Christian Terrace.

As General Minister & President of the Disciples denomination, Rev. Owens has the opportunity to see the need for affordable housing in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Over the course of the next six years, she also will be visiting thousands of churches and faith-based nonprofits. Having Rev. Owens informed of the very effective work of CCH will create a huge amount of synergy between the Disciples denomination and the mission of CCH. We look forward to the continued partnership as we work together to provide More Than A Home for thousands of seniors throughout the country.

Sincerely,
Don Stump
President/CEO
