CCH – COVID-19 Update (03/20/20)
The COVID-19 outbreak is a fast-changing situation, and we at CCH are committed to ensuring the well-being of our residents, our dedicated staff, and our communities at large.
Since learning of the outbreak, CCH has followed all protocols recommended by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local government health agencies to prevent and control the transmission of the Coronavirus. Additionally, CCH has implemented several measures and precautions to address this situation:
- CCH’s corporate offices located in Oakland and Sacramento, California are closed until further notice. All operational functions are being conducted remotely and corporate employees are reachable by email and phone, as usual.
- All onsite and offsite events and gatherings have been cancelled until further notice. (This cancellation does not include food and meal delivery programs)
- All common areas of our properties have been closed, except laundry rooms.
- Property operated bus services have been suspended.
- Maintenance work is limited to emergencies.
- Non-essential services or appointments are canceled.
- We have requested limited visitation by family and guest onto properties.
Stay at Home and similar orders
On March 19, 2020, California’s governor, Gavin Newsom issued a stay at home order for all residents in the state. This past week, several California and Pennsylvania counties where CCH operates properties have released similar orders for residents to shelter in place.
The intent of these orders is ensure that the maximum number of people self-isolate in their places of residence to the maximum extent feasible, while enabling essential services to continue. The orders generally provide for an exception to the stay at home requirement for essential businesses and critical infrastructure sectors, including CCH. All essential businesses, such as CCH, are strongly encouraged to remain open and to the greatest extent feasible, shall comply with Social Distancing Requirements.
In response to the orders, CCH community offices in California and Pennsylvania will be closed to non-essential, in-person transactions and staff will conduct as much business as possible via telephone, electronic mail, fax or other mail service providers.
These precautions are vital in helping us avoid and minimize the risks and possible spread of Coronavirus. CCH’s leadership is continually monitoring our local and state public health agencies, as well as information released by the CDC, and will continue to provide updates on the latest developments. During this period of working together for the safety of everyone, we appreciate your understanding.
