With a sizeable portfolio of 59 communities throughout California and eight states, the effort to manage procurement of parts and services for the continued maintenance of our buildings is a major feat. Such projects may include replacing generators, resurfacing parking lots, repairing elevators and renovating units, just to name a few.
Procurement Manager Sam Pendar joined our team earlier this year. His new position focuses on evaluating incoming bids, new vendors and their credentials. He comments, “At any one time, we have properties in the midst of minor renovation or repair requiring keen oversight to ensure we secure quality service, control all expenses and produce the best end result.” In this process, Sam secures liability, auto insurance and workers compensation insurance from vendors before approving them to work with community staff. He works with our Community Managers to run our recommendations by our site boards providing transparency and accountability.
Sam finishes, “By implementing this rigorous evaluation process, CCH provides property management clients the best vendors with high quality service and reasonable pricing. It’s all in a day’s work!”
